Zwei Jahre zuvor gr\u00fcndete sich die Zeitschrift <u><a title=\"Spielbox\" href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Spielbox\">Spielbox<\/a><\/u> , welche 1982 f\u00fcr die initiale Spielemesse warb, damals nannte sie sich noch deutsche Spielertage. Im Laufe der Jahre gewann die Messe internationale Beachtung und wies in diesem Jahr Anfang Oktober 147000 Spieleinteressierte auf, die vom 06. bis zum 09. die 980 Aussteller aus 56 Nationen besuchten. Seit 1990 wird auf der Messe der <u><a title=\"deutsche Spielepreis\" href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Deutscher_Spielepreis\">deutsche Spielepreis<\/a><\/u> verliehen, f\u00fcnf Jahre nachdem aufgrund der steigenden Besucherzahl der Austragungsort auf das Gel\u00e4nde der Messe Essen verlegt wurde, wo sie bis heute fast ununterbrochen j\u00e4hrlich ausgetragen wird. Das Jahr 2020 stellt, wie f\u00fcr viele Gro\u00dfveranstaltungen seinerzeit, eine Ausnahme dar, fand aber online ohne Besucherpr\u00e4sens dennoch statt. Mit 209.000 Besuchern und 1.200 Ausstellern war 2019 das Rekordjahr.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-795\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.productcluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Messestatistik-300x183.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.productcluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Messestatistik-300x183.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.productcluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Messestatistik-768x469.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.productcluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Messestatistik-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/blog.productcluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Messestatistik-610x373.jpg 610w, https:\/\/blog.productcluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Messestatistik.jpg 894w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Statistiken Internationale SPIEL<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\nFrom &#8217;21 to &#8217;22, there was indeed an increase in visitors of around 75%, as was highlighted at the press conference. In fact, the number of visitors only reached the level of 2011. If it were possible to predict the number of visitors for 2022 from a trend based on history, one should have expected around a quarter of a million. The reason for this could be the increased number of private gaming events during the pandemic, so that people are currently catching up on other needs. Travel may also have been an issue shortly before the autumn holidays. The extent to which the economic situation has already made itself felt in the private and business sectors can only be seen in retrospect, which also applies to the slump in the number of exhibitors. The presentation of new games has maintained its trend, which is optimistic. But focus on today:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n1800 new games or world premieres were presented at SPIEL &#8217;22. Games dealing with nature, the environment and animals had a remarkable share at this game fair. But so-called expert games also made an appearance.<br \/>\nThe trend is towards diversity, according to a brief summary. There was the main share of games worth between 15 and 150 EUR, but there was also a game valued at 400 EUR. Children&#8217;s games and card games are gaining a higher share again, as are party games. One-person games as well as logic games are strongly represented in customer demand. Thus, a variety of games could be played during the four days of the fair and there were platforms for diverse gaming communities, two of which will be highlighted later.<br \/>\nIn the area of puzzles, innovations are also emerging. While many puzzles remained on the shelves at the time of the lockdown, the motifs are changing to modern art, game graphics, photos and generally variations in the design of the puzzle itself. Thus, the age distribution of the puzzlers is 60 % adults, consequently 40 % children. The environmental aspect is also evident, as sustainable or recycled materials are used. Multiple outer packaging made of foils and plastics is increasingly being dispensed with. Durable materials and the aspect that games are used for decades generally make it a sustainable product.<br \/>\nGaming continues to be at a high level. Games are one of the two strongest product groups in the toy market, which itself, due to the pandemic, lost seven percentage points in 2022. There was growth in the plush product groups, while outdoor and dolls were less strong. <u><a title=\"Kidults\" href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kidult\">Kidults<\/a><\/u> haben immer noch starkes Interesse an Spielen. Die Kunden fragen nach sinnvollen, kreativen und herausfordernd spielerischen Freizeitbesch\u00e4ftigungen. Beachtlich fanden wir, dass sich <u><a title=\"Pokemon-Go\" href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pokmon-Sammelkartenspiel\">Pokemon-Go<\/a><\/u> und <u><a title=\"Pokemon Sammelspielkarten\" href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pokmon-Sammelkartenspiel\">Pokemon Sammelspielkarten<\/a><\/u>, ein Dauerbrenner seit 2016 bzw. 2000, mit einem eigenen Messestand pr\u00e4sentierte.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\nAt the press conference for SPIEL &#8217;22, there was also information about growth on the games market. The following diagram was shown, which we do not want to leave entirely uncommented. As a reminder, the chart shows the worldwide sales figures in the pandemic period for board games and puzzles. Strikingly, the growth at the beginning of the global lockdown in 2020 by about 30 percentage points. In the follow-up year 2021, however, sales grew by only 2 percentage points. In Germany, the figures are somewhat more slippery, 23 percentage points in 2020 and 3 percentage points increase in sales in 2021, which may be acknowledged as such given the intercepted inflation in Germany.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-813\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.productcluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Spiel22_PressConf_06-300x189.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"182\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Umsatz Gesellschaftsspiele und Puzzle<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\nDer Spielzeugmarkt findet sich, wie viele andere Handelsbranchen, im Umbruch. Die Digitalisierung und der E-Commerce zwingen auch die Letzten zum Handeln. Das station\u00e4re Gesch\u00e4ft in den sterbenden Innenst\u00e4dten leidet unter diesem und weiteren sowie weit aufgef\u00e4cherten Problemen. Die Pandemie trieb den Anteil der Fixkosten hoch, die sich anschlie\u00dfende Krise den Anteil, getrieben von Rohstoffpreisen, Energie, geforderte Dekarbonisierung und Lieferzeiten \/ Lieferketten. Wer schon vorher scharf kalkulieren musste, sieht sich nun noch st\u00e4rker in seiner Wirtschaftlichkeit bedroht. Wie auch bei anderen Produktsparten, hat es Deutschland bislang geschafft, sicherlich geschuldet dem hohen und guten Absatzmarkt im Inland, das Preisniveau vergleichsweise zu anderen EU-L\u00e4ndern niedrig zu halten. Es ist schon bei vielen Produkten festzustellen, wie stark die Preise angezogen haben. Das wird auch in anderen und in der Spielwarenbranche verz\u00f6gert stattfinden. Personal ist ein heikles Thema, es fehlt an Fachkr\u00e4ften zuz\u00fcglich eines <u><a title=\"demografischen Wandels.\" href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Demografischer_Wandel_in_Deutschland\">demografischen Wandels.<\/a><\/u>. Retailers no longer face competition from their local competitors, but from globalization, which has already moved many shops to open online shops or to offer products on electronic marketplaces. The demands in production, game development and distribution are growing, as is the request for government subsidies to mitigate the financial consequences. For some time now, attempts have been made to offer the games in bookshops, concept stores and the small shops of museums. These were the painful issues that were also addressed at Spiel&#8217;22.<br \/>\nThere was the Educator&#8217;s Day on the first day of the fair with tailored information for educators and other teachers. Games for teaching, community work and work with seniors were presented here. The Research Day on the following day focused on board game research in Germany. An important support for educational toys and a look into the future.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\nUm sich auf dem gro\u00dfen Messegel\u00e4nde zurechtzufinden, wurde dem Besucher eine App zur Verf\u00fcgung gestellt, die ihn bei der Navigation unterst\u00fctzte. Vermutlich ging es unserem Team von <u><a title=\"Product Cluster\" href=\"https:\/\/www.productcluster.de\">Product Cluster<\/a><\/u> genauso wie vielen anderen Teilnehmern, aufgrund fehlender Hinweise Vorort oder vorab, hatten wir dieses n\u00fctzliche Tool nicht am Start, zumal schon am Mittag des ersten Besuchertages alle Hallenflyer vergriffen waren. Wie aus der Wirtschaftsforschung zu h\u00f6ren ist, wird das Weihnachtsgesch\u00e4ft nicht von der aktuellen wirtschaftlichen Lage beeinflusst, sodass sich wirtschaftliche Effekte verschleifen.
